SCOTT J. DAVENPORT is a native of Providence, Rhode Island and earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration (double major in Finance and Marketing) from the University of Rhode Island in 1990. Before entering law school, he worked for a year as a claims approver for a major insurance company. In 1994, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law, while simultaneously completing his MBA at the University of Tulsa College of Business Administration. During law school, he served as the Managing Editor for the Tulsa Journal of Comparative and International Law, clerked for a Federal Magistrate, clerked for a law firm and won the American Jurisprudence Award in Commercial Law and Transactions. Scott began practicing law in 1994 with a Houston law firm in its commercial litigation section. During his tenure there, he represented financial institutions, restaurants, corporations and other business entities in a variety of complex commercial disputes and personal injury defense matters. He joined the attorneys in this firm in 1998. Scott is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has attained the highest rating (AV) from Martindale Hubbell. In 2006, H Texas Magazine recognized Scott as one of Houston's Top Lawyers for the People for personal injury litigation.
